Candlelight Christmas

Christmas has always been a special occasion at Hagley Hall and December just gone was no exception as guests enjoyed a series of “Candlelight Christmas” dinners.

Scrooge’s immortal words, “Christmas. Bah humbug!” could not have been any less appropriate with almost 800 diners over six nights revelling in good food and seasonal music.

The evenings began with a welcome glass of champagne or winter Pimms, followed by a short concerto by the returning favourites, The Heart of England Strings. A four-course dinner was then served in the Long Gallery by one of our nominated caterers, Jenkinsons, and the celebrations were rounded off with some rousing carol singing in the Saloon.

Parties were made up of individual couples sharing tables or friends booking 10 places at a time. The Crimson Dining Room was set aside for larger groups of up to 28.

Plans are underway for 2010 festivities with several parties already requesting tables. Dates will be finalised shortly and details will appear on this website.
