Romeo and Juliet

Chapterhouse Theatre Company performed Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet in the grounds of Hagley Hall on 15th August.

Following on the success of last year's Shakespeare in the Park, Midsummer Night's Dream, this year tickets sold out 2 weeks before the event, over 700 people attended the event enjoying the tragic love story set against the backdrop of the Abberley hills. The audience enjoyed the pig roast, champagne and wine bar as well as their own picnics.

The evening was nearly a blow out as well as a sell out, as the wind reached 17mph but the thespians battled on despite their costumes and staging trying to make a break for freedom! Luckily the wind died down after the first act...

Despite being at the height of our English summer there was a distinct chill after the sun had set, leading the tea and coffee to be a sell out.
