The festive afternoon teas went down a treat here at Hagley Hall in the run-up to Christmas.
Guests enjoyed delicious tea time goodies in the Long Gallery and Saloon served with pots of steaming tea or a glass or two of fizz.
The tea had a festive flavour with sandwiches including turkey, herb stuffing & bacon, brie & cranberry and Cheddar & festive chutney. The sweet treats carried on the seasonal theme with apple mincemeat crumble tart and a rather indulgent Christmas pudding chocolate brownie. There was, of course, the traditional scone with whipped cream and jam as quite frankly it wouldn’t have been a afternoon tea without one! And as a nod to the big man himself, there was even a lovely little strawberry Santa nestled in amongst the cake.
People used the teas as early Christmas presents wanting to give their loved ones something different or special. We also had a good number of Birthday celebrations with people bringing in balloons to decorate their tables. One party even bought a cake although it went home uncut due to all the tasty offerings on the cake stands.
We have had some wonderful accolades. One happy customer emailed us to say:
“We came yesterday for the festive afternoon tea. It was very enjoyable – the food was delicious and the service was first-class. If you have a similar event at Christmas next year we would gladly return.”
We will indeed be doing our festive afternoon teas next year so please do look at our website or do give the events team a call on 01562 887290 for more information.
